The Laser North American Championships were held in my hometown of Kingston, Ontario July 25-28.
Kingston did not deliver its typical seabreeze, but rather provided a tricky mix of inconsistent wind which made for very tough racing. I sailed a solid series, but made a few mistakes at key times in the qualifying series which cost me valuable points. I sailed a better final series, winning the last day to take 3rd overall, losing the tie-break with the 2nd place boat. Canada swept the podium and took the top 4 positions in the regatta.

Delta Lloyd Regatta
This past week I was in Medemblik, Netherlands for the Delta Lloyd Regatta.
Medemblik delivered a mean mix of plenty of wind, rain, and temperatures hovering around the 9 degree mark all week. I sailed a disappointing qualification series, just missing cutoff for gold fleet by 3 points (only 25 of 70 boats sail in the gold fleet in the Eurosaf scoring system). I had a solid second half of the regatta, finishing in the top five in 4 of 7 races, winning the final race to take 28th overall. Full results here.
This event wraps up my European season for the year. I will be training and competing at home for the rest of the summer.

WesMex Regatta
I competed in the WesMex Regatta held at Vallarta Yacht Club this past weekend to wrap up my three weeks of training in Mexico.
I won the event with a race to spare after a tight battle all weekend with fellow Canadian Sailing Team members Evert McLaughlin (2nd) and Tom Ramshaw (3rd). Results here.
I now have a week at home before heading to Europe for Eurosaf events in Lake Garda, Italy and Medemblik, Netherlands.
